COVINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – An Alexandria man has been indicted for seeking sex with a minor online, according to the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office.

The Kenton County Grand Jury charged 32-year-old Kevin Schwarber with one count of prohibited use of an electronic communication system to procure a minor or peace officer for a sex offense. Schwarber was arrested in March.

Officials say the arrest was the result of a nearly month long investigation into Schwarber’s online activities, which was initiated after he contacted an undercover detective posing as a minor online. Schwarber requested details about the minor persona’s sexual history, requested to receive sexual images and sent sexually explicit images of himself over the internet.

Schwarber was located by detectives through his internet use and was taken into custody at his place of employment in Covington. Schwarber spent one day in the Kenton County Detention Center before posting a $2,500 cash bond.

The Cyber Crimes Unit, an affiliate agency of the Kentucky Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, routinely uses advanced techniques to locate and apprehend suspects who otherwise operate in the shadows of the internet.
