MONTICELLO, Ky. (AP) – A large fire has damaged a Lake Cumberland marina in southern Kentucky.
News outlets report the fire at Conley Bottom Resort in Monticello started around 2 a.m. Monday. Firefighters say no one was injured.
Conley Bottom Resort took to Facebook Monday, posting, “As you most have seen, we have experienced a devastating fire at the main dock this morning. Despite the news media and channels we didn’t loose any private boats nor any rental boats. We will post more at a later time. Prayers are appreciated at this time. Our God is sufficient …even for this!”
Another post was added a couple hours later, “Despite our loss, we are anticipating doing all rentals for the weekend. If you have any LODGING reservations in 2019 (or know someone who does) please text or call the following numbers with your name, phone number, and rental date and type of unit ASAP.”
South Kentucky Rural Electric Cooperative Corporation posted a Tweet around 8 a.m. that said, “We have 225 w/out power in the Conley Bottom area due to the fire that has swept through the dock. Not sure how long the power will be off.”
Conley Bottom Resort describes itself as a family fun destination offering waterfront lodging and houseboat rentals.
