UPDATE: Intersection back open, Car slams into traffic light pole

Police say the intersection of Russell Cave Road and Radcliffe Drive is now back open, after nearly six hours of repairing traffic lights caused by an accident.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police say the intersection of Russell Cave Road and Radcliffe Drive is shutdown, after a vehicle crashed into a traffic light pole.

According to Lexington Police Sergeant Benjamin Stratton, the report came in before midnight on Wednesday.

Sergeant Stratton says someone was driving a vehicle outbound on Russell Cave Road, and ran off the side of the road, hitting a pole, causing four traffic lights to fall on the ground.



He says no one was injured.

Police say the intersection of Russell Cave Road and Radcliffe Drive will be shutdown for three hours.

They also say no arrests were made, and the driver was not under the influence.
