Clay County Sheriff’s Dept: Foot chase leads to arrest of wanted woman

CLAY COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A woman was arrested early Friday morning after leading deputies on a foot chase, according to the Clay County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies say they spotted 27-year-old Angela Lovins, of Gregory Branch Road, in the parking lot of the Dollar Mania around 1:30 a.m. Friday. When a deputy tried to make contact with Lovins, they said she took off on foot and led them on a brief foot pursuit before arresting her.

According to the sheriff’s department, Lovins had an active warrant out for her arrest.

Lovins was charged with Public Intoxication of Controlled Substance, Resisting Arrest, Fleeing or Evading Police, 2nd Degree, and Serving Bench Warrant for Court. Lovins was booked in the Clay County Detention Center.
