FLOYD COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- The last day of school has changed for all Floyd County Schools.

Superintendent Danny Adkins says June 3, 2019 will now be the last day of school for Betsy Layne Elementary, Betsy Layne High School, Duff-Allen Central Elementary, Floyd Central High School, John M Stumbo Elementary, May Valley Elementary, and South Floyd Elementary.

June 4, 2019 will now be the last day for Adams Middle, Allen Elementary, Prestonsburg Elementary, and Prestonsburg High School.

This is because the district requested emergency days. The Commissioner of Education granted those days.

“We hope this gives our graduating seniors enough time to notify their guests for graduation ceremonies and that our students will now have more opportunities this summer as a result of the Emergency Days being granted,” Adkins said.
