PAINT LICK, Ky. (AP) – A Kentucky teacher is accused of drunkenly driving to her job in Paint Lick and getting into a crash at the school.
The Lexington Herald-Leader reports 39-year-old Belinda Vance was arrested at Paint Lick Elementary School on Wednesday on charges including driving under the influence.
Lancaster police say she was in a single-vehicle crash at the school that morning and threw away crash debris before entering the school, where she was suspected of being under the influence.
Police say responding officers conducted a field sobriety test that Vance failed and had Vance used a breathalyzer, which showed her blood alcohol level at .19. She denied having alcohol that day.
Garrard Superintendent Corey Keith says a female school staff member involved in a single-vehicle crash on school grounds has been suspended.
