LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Multiple fire crews were called to the scene of a fire at an apartment building in Lexington on Wednesday night.
The fire broke out around 9 p.m. in the 500 block of Hollow Creek Road.
Twenty-three fire units initially responded to the scene and more were called in.
Crews say smoke and flames were visible when they arrived.
They say fire burned through the roof of the third floor and was spreading all the way to the basement.
The fire did extensive damage, according to firefighters.
The building is vacant.
The cause of the fire has not been determined.
Fire investigators will be on the scene Thursday.
