Three people arrested after hours long Powell Co. standoff

MOREHEAD, Ky. (WTVQ)- Three people have been arrested after a standoff Thursday morning in Powell County.

According to Kentucky State Police, a man called Powell County dispatchers around 5 a.m. and told them two men confronted him on his front porch when he got home from work.

Officers say when they arrived at the home, they tried for several hours to contact the three people inside the home. Several hours later, Tommy Petrey, Donald Lewis and Regina Whisman left the home peacefully.

Whisman, 38, reportedly lives at the home. She is charged with Hindering Prosecution 2nd Degree (1 count).

Tommy Petrey, 47, from Williamsburg is charged with Possession of Firearm by a Convicted Felon (1 count). Donald Lewis, 37, from Louisville faces the same charge. 

Lewis was also charged on an unrelated warrant, according to KSP.

All three were taken to the Powell County Detention Center.
