LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Fire crews are at the scene of a barn fire in Lexington.
That fire broke out at the Justice Farm on Man O’ War Boulevard around 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
The Lexington Fire Department says people at the farm tell them the barn where the fire broke out had eight horses inside.
Firefighters say they were able to see two stables while battling the fire, but have not been able to get inside and confirm if there are any horse inside.
It says the barn was full of hay and helped fuel the fire, but firefighters also had to get stretch water lines through the woods to get enough water.
The wind has also made things difficult on firefighters.
The fire department says the roof has collapsed and is covering hay that is still burning.
Firefighters will stay on scene monitoring the fire all night.
The cause of the fire is still unknown and is under investigation.
