Investigators say 33-year old Derrick J. Morris, of Frankfort, is charged with Murder and Robbery 1st Degree.  He was taken to the Shelby County Detention Center.

State Police say Morris assaulted a man during a home invasion on Saffell Street in Lawrenceburg around 5:00 a.m. Tuesday.  Investigators say Morris hit the man repeatedly with a firearm.  State Police say at one point, the gun went off with a bullet striking 22-year old Lauryn T. Kinne, of Lawrenceburg, in the chest.  She was in her third trimester of pregnancy.  She and her unborn child died at an area hospital.

State Police say a projectile from the gun hit the man who was being assaulted.  He survived.  He was hospitalized.  He was identified by The Anderson News as Kinne’s boyfriend, Joseph Luttrell.

State Police say other charges are pending.

Earlier Tuesday, investigators arrested 20-year old Johnathan T. Harley, of Lawrenceburg, and charged him with Robbery 1st Degree.  KSP says Harley initially denied any involvement in the robbery plans, but later admitted to investigators that he took part in the planning and execution of the robbery.  He was taken to the Shelby County Detention Center.

The deadly home invasion happened across the street from Saffell Street Elementary School.  Even though school was not in session yet for the day, all public schools in Anderson County operated on a two-hour delay as a precaution.
