METCALFE COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Metcalfe County man accused of killing his roommate has pleaded guilty to the crime.
Kentucky State Police arrested 46-year-old Bobbie Lawson following the 2017 shooting death of his roommate, 30-year old Bobby L. Hubert, of Summershade.
Investigators say Lawson killed Hubert after the two got into an argument.
Lawson was charged with murder, tampering with physical evidence and abuse of a corpse.
According to the Glasgow Daily News, Lawson pleaded guilty just three weeks before a jury trial was set to begin.
The newspaper says, in exchange for his guilty plea, the commonwealth recommended a sentence of 20 years for Lawson.
Formal sentencing is scheduled for May 28.
