HENDERSON, Ky. (WTVQ) – What began as a traffic stop, ended with a foot chase and a Trooper using his taser to arrest a suspect in Henderson.
Investigators say 33-year old Jeffery Brown was pulled over on Washington Street for not wearing his seat belt.
State Police say during a field sobriety test, investigators found suspected methamphetamine and marijuana on Brown at which time he took off running.
KSP says after a foot chase, Brown was caught while trying to jump over a metal fence. Investigators say Brown refused to cooperate and resisted arrest, so a taser was used to get him to comply.
State Police say Brown was taken to the Henderson County Detention Center where he was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (methamphetamine); Possession of Marijuana; No Insurance; Driving on a Suspended or Revoked License; Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence 1st; Fleeing/Evading 1st Degree (Foot); Failure to Surrender Revoked/Suspended License; Failure to Wear Seat Belts and Resisting Arrest.
