Clay Co. Sheriff: Two arrested for possession of burglary tools


CLAY COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Two individuals were arrested in Clay County for attempting to break into a building and making off with a bag full of tools.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Department says they responded to a call regarding an attempted break-in at a building on Crawfish Road. When deputies arrived, they found two individuals fitting the description they were given, walking down the road with a duffle bag.

When deputies made contact with the two individuals, they stated they were checking on a neighbor’s property because they had heard someone was trying to break into the residence.

After investigating, deputies say they learned the caller ran off the two individuals before arriving on scene.

Deputies say they arrested 37-year-old Frankie Carpenter and 36-year-old Gretta Dezarn, both of Crawfish Road, at 1 a.m. Wednesday. Both were charged with Possession of Burglary Tools.

Manchester City Police assisted in the investigation.
