FAYETTE COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Some Fayette County students took top honors in the 2019 Bluegrass Regional Art Exhibition.
Natalie Fowler, of Lafayette, took Best of Show 2-D for “Shrink;” Mason Gohde, of Bryan Station, took Best of Show 3-D for “The Selters;” and an Art Education/AESA Award went to Abby Burns, of Henry Clay, for “Cheater in a Balloon.”
Teens from two dozen counties took part in the Bluegrass contest, which was co-sponsored by the Kentucky Art Education Association (KAEA) and Eastern Kentucky University’s Department of Art & Design. The Giles Gallery on EKU’s Richmond campus hosted a reception and awards ceremony March 24.
The first-place and special award winners advance to state competition, along with runners-up in Painting and Drawing.
The All-State Art Show will be on display at the Hellmann Creative Center in Covington starting April 8. The KAEA awards will be presented May 5.
