I-75/KY 627 interchange project to begin in Madison Co.

Interchange reconstruction project at Exit 95 in Madison County


LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says that the I-75/KY 627 interchange project will begin during the month of April.

The interchange is located at Exit 95 in Richmond.  Work includes intersection relocation of Colonel and Simpson Road.  The number of lanes will be increased with paved shoulders for KY 627/Boonesborough Road.  The paved shoulders could accommodate pedestrians and bicycles.

The Allen Company, Inc. was awarded the project for $13,675,476.20.  The anticipated completion date for the work is August 31, 2020.  The overall purpose of the project is to improve safety and reduce congestion at the KY 627 Bridge over Interstate 75.
