
LAWRENCEBURG, Ky. (WTVQ) – An Anderson County teenager pleaded guilty to a lesser charge as part of a plea deal in a car crash case that left another teen dead, according to The Anderson News.
Brianna Watson, who was 17-years old at the time of the deadly wreck in 2017, pleaded guilty to reckless homicide, according to the newspaper report. She was originally charged with manslaughter. Prosecutors recommended a five-year sentence, according to the report.
Investigators say Watson was driving on Alton Station Road when she missed a turn, causing the car to flip. Watson’s 17-year old passenger, Sydney Peffer, was ejected from the vehicle. Peffer died from her injuries at an area hospital.
Watson is scheduled to be sentenced May 21, 2019.
