LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Students all around the world are protesting climate change.
Locally, two high school students organized a protest outside of the Fayette County District Court.
Both of the organizers say it matters how we treat the earth now because it will affect us in the future.
They say a big first step to change is to pass the Green New Deal in Kentucky that focuses on using renewable energy.
“Having people all over the country and all over the world who are saying we believe in you, we trust you, we’re behind you 100%, it feels great,” said Emily Johnson, Co-Organizer.
A couple of tips they have is to take quick showers, turn off the lights, and reduce, reuse, and recycle.
