LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- Even though St. Patrick’s Day is Sunday, Lexington will celebrate it on Saturday.
Here’s the schedule in downtown:
8:00am – The 13th annual Shamrock Shuffle road race to benefit Lexington Habitat for Humanity.
10:45am – The annual “Blessing of the Keg” at the Alltech tents at the Robert F. Stephens Courthouse Plaza (this kicks off the day long Irish Festival. Local musicians, dancers and pipe bands will entertain all day).
1:00pm – The 40th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The parade will begin at Main and Midland (Herald-Leader building) and travel down Main Street to Mill Street.
The Grand Marshal is Bill Enright. He was among a small group of Lexingtonians who founded the Bluegrass Irish Society and organized the city’s first St. Patrick’s Day Parade 40-years ago.
