UPDATE: (03/12/19) – One of two people shot inside a Lexington bar Monday afternoon has died.

The Fayette County Coroner says 68-year-old James Terry died Tuesday as a result from his injuries at UK Medical Center.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- Two people were shot inside a Lexington bar Monday afternoon and one man has been arrested in connection to the shooting.

Police say they got a call just before 4 p.m. about a shooting at Uncle 7’s Bar & Grill off Clays Mill Road near Jessie M Clark Middle School.

Police were told one person was shot and hiding in the restroom.

One witness, though, was complaining about back pain. Police say he thought he had hurt it while ducking for cover. Then, someone noticed blood on his shirt and realized he had been shot too.

His 70th birthday just a little over two weeks away, Larry Walters was booked into jail.

Police won’t confirm yet if he is the one who fired the shots at the bar.

They just say the suspect ran away and then, officers arrested him at his home.

Police didn’t find Walters too far away from the bar, a three minutes’ car ride over on Galata Drive.

Both victims were taken to UK hospital and are in stable condition.
