UPDATE: Teen in serious condition after Lexington shooting

Police say they initially responded to a reported “active shooter” situation at the Crown Plaza in Natick around 3 a.m. Tuesday.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- Lexington Police say a 17-year-old girl is in serious condition after a shooting Friday afternoon.

They say just after 3:30, police were responding to a shots fired call when the girl showed up at Good Samaritan with a gunshot wound. She was taken to UK Hospital and undergoing surgery.

Police say she is in serious condition, but not considered life-threatening.

Police say people in two vehicles got into an argument, one black vehicle, one white vehicle, and the people in the black vehicle started firing shots on the people in the white vehicle.



The driver of the white car took off and the other driver chased them to Broadway and Fourth Street where several more shots were fired, hitting the 17-year-old girl.

Police say the driver of the white car drove the girl to the hospital and stayed there to talk to police.

They say suspects have not been arrested and believe the two parties know each other.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Lexington Police Department shut down an area in downtown Lexington while officers investigated a shooting.

The shooting happened just after 4 p.m.

Police say people in two vehicles were shooting at each other around Broadway and Fourth Street.

They say a woman in one of the vehicles was hit.

She was taken to the hospital.

No word on her condition or if there have been any arrests.

Police closed down part of Broadway and Fourth Street while they conducted their investigation.
