KSP: Fugitive found running a sandwich shop in Madison County


RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police say a tip lead to the arrest of a fugitive wanted out of Chicago.

Marshawn Thomas was picked up by the Madison County Drug Task Force Thursday morning in Richmond.

Police say they got a tip Thomas was not only living in Richmond but that he recently opened a sandwich shop called ‘Tela’s Kentucky Sandwich Shack’ in the city.

They say Thomas was also going by the name “DeJuan Mack.”

Thomas is in the Madison County Detention Center awaiting extradition to Chicago for charges of aggravated kidnapping, armed robbery and possession of cannabis over 30 grams.

Police say he is also charged with theft of identity for assuming someone else’s name and birthdate.
