HAZARD, Ky. (WTVQ) – Water service was restored Wednesday to the last remaining customers who had been without since last week in Hazard, according to city officials.
A series of water line breaks, and to a lesser extent, people dripping faucets during last week’s arctic cold, led to the declaration of a water emergency in the city February 1. All customers were asked to conserve water.
Some customers were without water until Wednesday, including in the Leatherwood community.
City officials say some customers may initially experience low water pressure, particularly in the higher elevations, as water tanks fill-up.
If anyone is still without water on Thursday, they are asked to contact Hazard city officials at 606-438-4200.
