Mild temps with scattered showers continue Tuesday


Overview:  Lighter scattered showers continue Thursday with early morning patchy fog. Near record setting high temperatures and rain chances linger through Thursday, with the chance for some morning snow by Friday, with colder temperatures returning. The return to more seasonably cold temperatures return for the weekend and early next week.

TODAY: Mild temperatures continue with a few rain showers possible, with a high temperature of 60 degrees.

TUESDAY NIGHT: A few rain showers linger, with an overnight low temperature of 54 degrees.

WEDNESDAY: Warmer air moves into the area, with temperatures getting back into the upper 60s, with more rain showers developing. The bulk of the heavy rain will stay west of I-75. The record high temperature for this Wednesday, February 6th is 67 degrees, set back in 1925, and we are forecasting 68 degrees.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Rain chance continue, with overnight low temperatures around 58 degrees.

THURSDAY: Rain showers continue, which may be heavy at times. Even a few thunderstorms are possible, with high temperatures expected to be around 70 degrees. The record high temperature for Thursday, February 7th is 67 degrees set in 1925. The last time we were in the 70s for a high temperature at the Lexington Blue Grass Airport, was on Halloween, October 31st, 2018, when we had a high of 72 degrees.

THURSDAY NIGHT: Rain showers continue, yet as cold air moves into the region, we may see a transition to snow, which will taper off Friday morning. Overnight low temperatures will be around 32 degrees.

FRIDAY: A rain-snow mix to snow will be possible during the morning hours, with high temperatures around 37 degrees. Clearing skies is expected for the afternoon hours.

FRIDAY NIGHT: Clearing skies and much colder temperatures develop, with an overnight low of 17 degrees.

SATURDAY: Mostly sunny skies and cold temperatures develop, with a high of 38 degrees.

SATURDAY NIGHT:  Mostly clear skies continue, with an overnight low temperature of 20 degrees.

SUNDAY: Mostly cloudy skies develop for Sunday, with late day rain showers, and a high temperature of 40 degrees.

SUNDAY NIGHT: Rain showers to a little wintry mix will be possible, with overnight low temperatures around 35 degrees.

MONDAY: Scattered rain showers will be possible, with a chilly high temperature of 45 degrees.
