KNOX COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- According to the Times-Tribune, a couple accused of abusing their 4-year-old son has entered a plea deal.
The newspaper says 24-year-old Natasha McBee and 24-year-old Nickalas Jorgenson pleaded guilty to criminal abuse of their son, who told a social worker he would get locked in his room for long periods of time, sometimes so long that he had to use the bathroom on the floor.
During investigation, deputies say the child’s door had a lock on the outside, and the window had been reportedly covered with a sheet of wood.
Investigators say the couple told them they did it to punish the child.
The couple will appear in court for a jury trial on Febraury 5th. Prosecutors have recommended that McBee serve seven years in prison, rather than 10.
The newspaper says a sentencing for McBee is set for February 26.
Prosecutors have recommended that Jorgenson serve eight years, but could serve 12 years in prison. He will be sentenced on February 22.
