LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) –Kentucky Transportation Cabinet crews will report Friday morning at 5 a.m. to patrol and treat routes as necessary.
The forecast for Central KY includes accumulation of an inch of snow and freezing rain. Every winter event is different and presents unique challenges such as the timing of snowfall and ice, along with air and pavement temperatures.
The National Highway Transportation Safety Administration suggests the following winter driving tips:
ü Get your car serviced
ü Check your battery
ü Check your cooling system
ü Fill your washer reservoir
ü Check your windshield wipers and defrosters
ü Know your car (every vehicle handles differently)
ü Plan your travel and route (plan ahead)
ü Stock your vehicle (emergency supplies)
ü Learn what to do in a winter emergency
