Boyle County Emergency Management said it will activate a shelter Wednesday starting at 8 p.m. through Thursday morning at 8 a.m.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – As extreme temperatures set in this week the Lexington-Fayette Animal Care and Control urge all residents to take their pets indoors.

They say for outside pets, proper shelter, bedding, food, and water are required; however, during hazardous conditions that may not be enough.

The simple way to avoid a harmful situation for your pets is to bring them inside during inclement weather, according to officials.

Officers are ready to respond to all welfare concerns.
