Mercer County sex offender arrested

MERCER COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- A Mercer County sex offender is back behind bars this weekend for reportedly making sexual comments to a young woman on social media.

Mercer County Sheriff’s deputies say they arrested Larry Coffman from Harrodsburg at his job.

Investigators say someone alerted them Coffman had made lewd and sexual comments to a juvenile girl online.

Coffman, a registered sex offender, was charged with unlawful transaction with a minor.

Investigators say the case is still open and there could be additional arrests and charges.
