LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Fayette County Public Schools cancelled classes for Friday, January 25, 2019, due to widespread illness in the district.
The school system says it monitored absences all week, and continued to see a downward trend.
Student attendance was less than 90-percent at 19 of the district’s schools Thursday – including four of the six high schools, according to school officials.
Absences were higher than average at all but three schools district-wide, according to FCPS.
The school system says custodians will use the day to deep clean and sanitize all the schools.
