WHITLEY COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- According to The News Journal Newspaper, two people were air-lifted Monday morning after their vehicle drove into 3-feet of flooding water, causing them to become trapped.
The newspaper says this happened on Dal Road just after 9:30 a.m. The report says a man was able to escape on his own, but his daughter was still trapped in the car.
Bystanders, Robert Allen Miller and his son, Jeff Miller, were able to free the trapped woman and potentially save her life, according to the report.
The newspaper says the woman was then loaded into the stokes basket and carried up an embankment to the railroad tracks and then down another steep embankment on the other side to an ambulance.
The two suffered from hypothermia and were airlifted to a nearby hospital.
