PERRY COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Perry County Sheriff’s Office says two women were arrested after being caught doing drugs in an elementary school bathroom during a basketball game.
Deputies say it happened Monday night at Leatherwood Elementary School.
Investigators say the principal and school resource officer were told about two suspicious people in a bathroom stall of the women’s restroom.
When they checked on the report, investigators say they found 52-year old Lisa Whitworth and 44-year old Wanda Hubbard, both of Slemp, inside the bathroom stall with a yellow substance around their noses.
Investigators say the two women admitted to snorting a controlled substance, which was not immediately identified.
Both women were charged with public intoxication and taken to the Kentucky River Regional Jail in Hazard, according to deputies.
