A warm front moved north across the Bluegrass transitioning the snow showers from the overnight hours into rain. Officially Lexington accumulated 1 inch of snow on the ground at the Bluegrass Airport; however, a majority, if not all will be melted by Sunday with rounds of rain showers continuing tonight and into Sunday. Some mixing may occur tonight as temperatures approach the freezing point, but should stay rain for a majority of central and eastern Kentucky.
Timing: Tonight into Sunday Morning
Threats: Black Ice, as temperatures cool down roads could freeze over
Beyond tonight, expect rain to continue into Sunday morning with lingering showers moving out by mid-day with mostly cloudy skies. Monday will feature cold temperatures in the mid 30s and still cloudy and sunny skies finally prevailing on Tuesday as temperatures rebound into the upper 30s low 40s.
TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy skies rain showers likely; low temperature of 31 degrees.
SUNDAY: Expect mostly cloudy skies with morning rain showers; high temperatures will be 35 degrees.
