UPDATE: Man hit and killed by train in Madison County identified


BEREA, Ky. (WTVQ) – Madison County Coroner Jimmy Cornelison has identified the man struck and killed by a train early Monday morning.

The victim was identified as 38-year-old Douglas James Lacy of Berea.

Lacy was formerly a resident of Georgia but had been living in Kentucky for the last few years.

According to the Berea Police Department, the man was struck around 12 a.m. on the tracks near Mayde Road.

They believe the man was homeless and asleep on the tracks.
