LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington Fire crews say a man was taken to the hospital, after a house fire ignited on Ross Avenue Tuesday night.
According to Lexington Fire officials, they were called to the home around 9:30 p.m.
Fire officials say the house is divided into three apartments, all of which had heat and smoke damage.
Crews say the house next door also sustained some heat damage, because the homes are so close together.
They also say the man was treated for smoke inhalation at the hospital.
Lexington Fire officials also say a firefighter saved a pet rat from inside the apartment.
Crews say investigators were still working overnight to determine the origin and cause of the fire.
