ELKHORN CITY, Ky. (WTVQ) – The former Elkhorn City school is now a 27-unit multi-family apartment complex.
Utilizing Low Income Housing Tax Credits awarded by the Kentucky Housing Corporation and Federal Historic Tax Credits from the Kentucky Heritage Council, the Elkhorn City School apartments is an example of both affordable housing and community collaboration.
Community Affordable Housing Equity Corporation is the tax credit equity investor on the project with Fahe serving as the construction lender. Additionally, the Kentucky Department for Local Government provided CDBG funds to the project.
The developer of the project is AU Associates, Inc.
