LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – State charges were dropped Monday against a University of Kentucky student accused of making threats through social media to pave the way to face federal charges at trial early next year.
Haily Duvall, 19, was in Fayette District Court to answer to charges of terroristic threatening and falsely reporting an incident.
Those charges were dropped, according to court officials.
Duvall still faces federal charges of threatening communications, making false statements and reporting false information.
She is accused of making threats against the University of Kentucky on Snapchat and then reporting those threats to police and reacting to the threats to local media and the student newspaper.
She is scheduled for trial in federal court in February.
