Nicholasville Police search for holiday porch pirate

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – It’s a holiday headache that can happen to almost anyone. A thief stealing packages just outside someone’s doorstep. Nicholasville Police are looking for a man they say stole Christmas gifts from a home on Alta Avenue.

“He needs to get a job. Get a life. I mean, you’re taking from a kid and a family from Christmas,” says a neighbor who wished to remain anonymous.

Nicholasville Police say this is an issue every year during the holiday season.

“More people order online for the convenience factor, but the issue is that there are people that don’t really want to work, who would just assume, drive around your neighborhood and steal your Christmas packages,” says Kevin Grimes with the Nicholasville Police Department.

Another man gave WTVQ security camera images from his house. The images show a maroon truck that is similar to the one police are looking for.

One neighbor says the family reported the incident to Amazon. He says the company reimbursed them for the stolen presents.
