ADAIR COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Tennessee man is behind bars in Kentucky after police say he traveled to the state to have sex with a minor.
Kentucky State Police say they were called on December 1st about a man who had sex with a 14-year-old in Columbia.
Investigators say the teenager told them a man she had been talking to on Snapchat showed up at her home and she met him outside.
Police say she went on to tell them she and the man had sexual intercourse then he left, but he planned to come back on December 8.
Snapchat messages confirmed the man, 39-year-old Samuel Hicks, of Marysville, Tennessee, was returning to meet the teen.
Police say they waited for Hicks to show up and when he did, they arrested him.
State Police say Hicks confessed to having sexual relations with the juvenile.
He is charged with sodomy, unlawful transaction with a minor, and prohibited use of electronic communication system to procure minor.
