A frontal boundary will continue to push through Kentucky; behind the boundary is much colder temperatures. Highs today should stay in the upper 30s. High pressure builds in fairly quickly and the mostly cloudy skies will become mostly sunny by the end of your Friday. High pressure will remain in control tonight before moving out Saturday as cloud cover pushes back into the Bluegrass.

Winter weather returns to the region starting Saturday night and continuing Sunday. A rain/snow mix could drop between 1-3” of sleet and snow, BUT it will remain to the south east. This means the Lexington metro area should get through the weekend in okay shape with the chance of some pockets of showers but no accumulations are expected.
