LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- Lexington Hospital for Cats, Central Kentucky’s only cat-specific veterinary hospital, is collecting donations of cat food and supplies for the homeless cats at the Lexington Humane Society and monetary donations for the American Veterinary Medical Foundation’s Veterinary Care Charitable Fund this holiday season.
Over the past 10 years, Lexington Hospital for Cats’ Angel Cat Tree has collected over $18,000 in donations. This year, the need is even greater and to meet these needs, we are asking for your help.
Simply stop by the cat hospital located at 271 Southland Drive in Lexington, and pick an ornament on the Angel Cat Tree. On the back of each ornament is a request for an item needed by the sheltered cats. Then purchase the item and return it to Lexington Hospital for Cats to place under the Angel Cat Tree.
Veterinary Care Charitable Fund donations are tax-deductible and allow Lexington Hospital for Cats to provide services to service cats, cats of disabled military veterans, neglected and
abandoned cats, cats impacted by local disasters, and cats involved in cruelty cases. A small portion of each donation goes to the Greatest Need Fund that is used to provide veterinary care to animals harmed by major disasters across the USA including the recent hurricanes.
Cat food and supplies donations will be collected from November 27 to December 29 and delivered to the Lexington Humane Society January 2. Donations for the Veterinary Care Charitable Fund are collected year round and can be made by using the link at lexingtonhospitalforcats.com.
