NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – People who live in a Nicholasville trailer park are against a proposed zoning change that affects where they live.
That change, if passed, would mean commercial development that might require them to move.
The Planning and Zoning Commission voted against the change Monday night.
“They are low income, they are elderly, they are veterans, they are disabled, I am one of those. They have nowhere to go,” one resident told the commission.
Justin Manning, an attorney for Gumption, LLC, says the amendment would have been good for the community.
“The community has a need for both commercial and industrial development, which is what this application seeks to resolve,” said Manning.
Manning says he will meet with his client in the near future to decide what the next step is.
