When police arrived, one of those men, 33-year-old Victor Blankenship from Ricetown, reportedly ran, leading officers into a wooded area behind the Wal-mart.

That’s where Officer Steven Sparks hurt his hand while Blankenship reportedly resisted arrest.

Sparks was treated at the hospital and released.

Blankenship faces several charges, including assaulting a police officer.

The two other men involved, Thomas and Trenton Hensley were charged with shoplifting under $500 dollars.
