Hiker rescued in the Red River Gorge

WOLFE COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A hiker had to be rescued Saturday afternoon in the Red River Gorge.

The Wolfe County Search and Rescue Team says it received a 911 call around 2:30 PM about a woman who had hurt her knee near Eagle Point Buttress.

When the team found the hiker, they also saw she was suffering from mild hypothermia.

During the rescue it got dark outside and the team says the trail was challenging, but they were able to carry the hiker out.

A climber was also hurt, but the team says he was able to get out with help from other climbers.
