Exercise rider killed in fall at Churchill Downs

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS/WTVQ)- In Louisville, an exercise rider was killed Saturday when the two-year-old he was breezing fell suddenly.

Odanis Acuna was a veteran rider for trainer Kenny McPeek.

The onsite EMTs who treated him say they think he died instantly.

McPeek posted online Saturday saying he’s working on a way to help Acuna’s wife and children.

There is a Go Fund Me site that has raised more than $25,000 so far.
