LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Jefferson Street Bridge will soon be no more.
The bridge, which crosses over Cox Street parking lot, was closed Monday to prepare for demolition.
It will be removed from north of Manchester Street to Main Street.
Drivers can still use Jefferson Street to get to Manchester Street from High Street on the south side.
The bridge is being demolished for a $241 million expansion of the Lexington Convention Center and a 10-acre park.
The project is expected to take up to ten weeks.
