JAMESTOWN, Ky. (WTVQ) – The body of a man who went under while swimming in Lake Cumberland last week was recovered Sunday afternoon.
The Russell County coroner says the body of 61-year old Robin Edward Adair, from Millsap, Texas, was recovered near Wolf Creek Dam.
The coroner says no foul play is suspected. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday at the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort.
Investigators say Adair was a veteran law enforcement officer. They say he was on a houseboat with his wife last Tuesday, October 9, when he jumped into the lake to swim, but never resurfaced.
Advanced sonar equipment and a robot were used to help find Adair’s body.
A number of agencies were involved in the search, including the Russell County Rescue Squad, Boone County Water Rescue, Barren County Fire & Rescue, Lexington Fire Department, KSP Bomb Squad Division, Cumberland County Rescue Squad, Pulaski County Rescue Squad, independent diver Kenny Anderson, Russell County Coroner’s Office and the Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife.
