UPDATE: TJ Maxx shoplifting suspect arrested in Bourbon County


BOURBON COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputies say they arrested 35-year-old James A. Oakley Jr., of Nicholasville yesterday afternoon in Bourbon County for a robbery that occurred September 17th at the TJ Maxx store on W. Lowry Lane.

According to Lexington Police, they were called to the TJ Maxx store on W. Lowry Lane on September 17th for a robbery report.

Police say they released surveillance video to the public in an effort to identify him and the woman he was with.

According to police, they say a loss prevention employee reported Oakley leaving the store wearing an entire outfit, pants, belt, and shirt that he did not purchase.

Police say when Oakley was approached by the employee he pulled out a knife from his pocket and threatened the employee before running from the store.

Oakley is now charged with robbery, and is scheduled to appear in court on that charge today.
