WOLFE COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- Search and rescue officials say a woman was bitten by a copperhead while rock climbing Saturday in Muir Valley.
Officials say the woman was bit on the hand and suffered from some pain and nausea. She was taken to the hospital.
Wolfe County Search and Rescue wants to remind people that a copperhead bite is rarely, if ever lethal.
Officials say to always be mindful of where you place your feet and hands. Cooperheads are very common in the area and very difficult to see.
The snake shown is from a stock photo and is innocent of any wrong doing.
