Free trash disposal day

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) –The Bluegrass Regional Transfer Station is holding its free trash disposal day for non-hazardous household waste Saturday, October 13, in Lexington.

The trash disposal will be held from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 1505 Old Frankfort Pike.

Fayette County residents may dispose of up to one pickup truck load of household waste. Bulky items, such as mattresses, furniture, and up to four tires off the rim, will be accepted at this event.

Appliances will not be accepted but can be taken to Environmental Recycling Inc. at no cost.

Electronic devices, such as computers, cell phones, and televisions, can be dropped off at no cost to the city’s Electronics Recycling.

Residents can donate liquid latex paint to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore at 451 Southland Dr.

Lexington offers free disposal days four times a year: January, April, July and October.

Justin was born and raised in Saint Louis, Missouri, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology from Western Illinois University with Minors in Broadcasting and Mathematics. His interest in weather began at a young age when his parents gave him a book, ‘First Field Guide To Weather’ for his Birthday, ever since then weather has been a passion of his from forecasting to chasing tornadoes.
