LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington Police arrested a man after they say he was trafficking marijuana within the vicinity of his three children.
The man arrested is 27-year-old Daquan Smith.
Police say a search warrant was issued August 31st at his home on Crystal Falls Road.
They say during the search 3.2 pounds of marijuana, $15,000, and a rifle were seized at the home.
Police say two of the three children ages 6 and 7 came to school with backpacks that had a raw scent of marijuana indicating they had been in the vicinity recently.
Police also say they found drug paraphernalia in the home including a marijuana grinder and a money counter.
Smith is charged with trafficking marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and three counts of endangering the welfare of a minor.
Police say the third count is related to a 1-year-old that lives in the home.
He is scheduled to appear in court on those charges today.
