TODAY: Expect off and on rain showers today, high temperature of 73 degrees.
TONIGHT: Expect partly cloudy skies with rain mainly for eastern Kentucky; low temperature for Wednesday night will be 51 degrees.
Overview: A strong cold front is moving through Central and Eastern Kentucky today so temperatures won’t move much with off and on rain showers, heavy at times. A FLASH FLOOD WATCH is in effect until Wednesday at 2 PM for Eastern Kentucky. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route, remember Turn Around Don’t Drown! Flooding will continue to be a concern across the region since the ground is still very saturated from the remnants of Gordon and Florence the past couple of weekends. Flood prone areas should be on notices as showers and storms could drop large amounts of precipitation in a short period of time.
Looking ahead, Thursday will be mostly cloudy with spot rain showers in Eastern Kentucky for the morning hours before going mostly cloudy. Finally, the sun pops back out on Friday as high pressure take control of our weather pattern.
